Dr. Elizabeth Bjarnason is an Associate Professor of Software Engineering at Lund University, affiliated with the Software Engineering Research Group (SERG) and ELLIIT initiative. She holds roles in the LTH Profile Areas of AI and Digitalization, and Natural and Artificial Cognition. Her expertise spans empirical software development methods, requirements engineering, and AI integration in professional work. She teaches courses on software business ethics and requirements engineering, and supervises M.Sc. projects in software processes and collaboration.
Elizabeth’s research focuses on digital work environments, human aspects of collaboration, and the application of AI in software development. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to innovation and infrastructure. She leads or collaborates on projects like ‘Man får vad man frågar efter!’ (2022–2026) and ‘WASP Continuous Experimentation with Limited User Data’ (2022–2026).
Her scientific accolades include multiple Best Paper Awards (2010, 2015, 2021) and an influential paper recognition in 2021. She actively engages in academic activities, including invited talks on sustainable digital work environments and cross-context comparisons of digitalization impacts.
