Elizabeth Baxter

Elizabeth Baxter is an Instructional Assistant Professor of Classics at the University of Mississippi, affiliated with the Department of Classics within the College of Liberal Arts. She holds a Ph.D. in Classics from Boston University (2019). Her research focuses on ancient Greek literature, particularly the works of Sappho and Pindar, alongside Latin poetry of the Augustan era, including Horace and Ovid. She also explores ancient literary criticism and poetics.

Dr. Baxter teaches courses such as Intermediate Latin II, Introduction to Greek Civilization, and a First-Year Seminar on Greek Poetry. She is based in 103 Bryant Hall and can be reached via email at ehbaxter@olemiss.edu.
