Elizabeth Bartelt

Elizabeth Bartelt, PhD, MPH, is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Health and Health Behavior at the University at Buffalo's School of Public Health and Health Professions. Her research focuses on LGBTQ+ reproductive health access, sexual health among young adults, and sexuality education. She holds a PhD in Health Behavior from Indiana University and has extensive public health experience, including roles with Americorps*VISTA and Planned Parenthood.

Research Interests: Dr. Bartelt’s work emphasizes marginalized populations’ healthcare experiences, particularly LGBTQ+ communities. She investigates barriers to sexual and reproductive health services, the impact of inclusive education, and intersectional identity dynamics. Her global perspective includes studying sexual minority health in India.

Teaching & Service: Teaches in UB’s undergraduate public health program. Engages in community health initiatives and advocacy for inclusive policies. Active in grant-funded research projects addressing health equity.
