Elizabeth (Adeyemo) Wahab

Elizabeth (Adeyemo) Wahab is a Teaching Professor at Northwestern University and a heritage management specialist. She holds a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Notre Dame, where she is also a teaching scholar. Her expertise spans archaeology, archival research, and the application of material science techniques to heritage studies.

Her research focuses on archaeological ceramics, particularly investigating socio-cultural lifeways through pottery analysis. Key projects include studies on the ancient Igbo Ukwu community (Nigeria), Qatar’s ceramic glaze technologies, and fieldwork across Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Turkey, and Italy. She is affiliated with the Material History Lab’s “Chemistry of History” working group.
