Elise ROULLAUD

Elise ROULLAUD is a Lecturer in Sociology at UCO Angers (Catholic University of the West), where she serves as head of the first year of the Bachelor's degree in social sciences within the UFR Law and Political Sciences. She maintains a research affiliation with the Nantes Center for Sociology (UMR_6025) and has previously held post-doctoral positions at the Federal University of Toulouse and the University of Nantes.

Her research focuses on the sociology of representation and interest groups, collective mobilizations, sociology of the European Union, and sociology of public action. She specializes in examining how organizations like the Peasant Confederation interact with EU institutions, particularly regarding the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), and investigates the Europeanization of public policies and dynamics of trans-sectoral coalitions in policy contestation.

Her recent publications show a consistent focus on European integration, agricultural policy representation, and social movements, with particular attention to the intersection of political representation and economic challenges. Her work bridges historical analysis with contemporary policy concerns, demonstrating strong methodological expertise in qualitative approaches.

Dr. ROULLAUD currently coordinates the DEFCHOR research project ('Economic failures of café, hotel and restaurant owners: institutional support and biographical consequences') funded by the Institute for Studies and Research on Law and Justice (March 2022-March 2024). Her teaching portfolio includes Introduction to Sociology, Economic Sociology, Sociology of Associative Work, qualitative research methods, Introduction to Political Science, Political Sociology, and European Union policies.

She is affiliated with the Nantes Center for Sociology, where she contributes to research on European political sociology and public action, continuing her longstanding investigation into representation mechanisms within EU institutions and their impact on national and local policy implementation.
