Elise Kleyn

Elise Kleyn is a Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Division of Musculoskeletal & Dermatological Sciences, affiliated with the Lydia Becker Institute. She holds qualifications including MBChB (1996), PhD (2009), and FRCP (2016). Her research focuses on psoriasis, the brain-skin axis, and mental health resilience in healthcare workers, particularly during pandemics. She has contributed to over 40 publications and 12 professional activities, including organizing conferences and serving on committees for organizations like the British Association of Dermatologists.

Her work explores psychodermatological aspects of psoriasis, including comorbidities like depression and suicidality, as well as fertility trends and illicit drug use in affected populations. She has led initiatives such as the Lifestyle Clinic for psoriasis patients, which garnered significant media attention and academic readership.
