Elisabeth Pinart Nadal

Dr. Elisabeth Pinart Nadal is a Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Girona (UdG), specializing in Cell Biology. She currently serves as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and is affiliated with the Institute of Agro-Food Technology. Her research focuses on reproductive biotechnology through the Animal and Human Reproduction Biotechnology Research Group (TechnoSperm), investigating spermatogenesis, sperm cryopreservation, in vitro fertilization, and fertility preservation.

Her research spans:

• Sperm physiology and capacitation mechanisms
• Gamete and embryo cryopreservation techniques
• Proteomic analysis of reproductive cells
• Genetic factors in infertility

She collaborates on biomedical projects studying myocardial dysfunction in septic shock and rectal cancer surgery complications.

With over 70 scientific publications (52 in Q1 journals), she has guest-edited multiple Special Issues for top-tier journals including International Journal of Molecular Sciences and Frontiers in Veterinary Science. She has led 3 teaching innovation projects and participated in 16 competitive research grants, currently heading 3 industry collaborations.

Teaching responsibilities include Histology (Medicine), Molecular Biology, and Food Biotechnology. She mentors doctoral candidates and coordinates the Erasmus+ program.
