Elisabeth Pellathy serves as Associate Professor of New Media at UAB's Department of Art and Art History. Holding BFA and MFA degrees from Alfred University, her interdisciplinary practice spans textiles, digital fabrication, jewelry, and installation. Her work addresses ecological concerns through material investigations of tactility and visibility.
Pellathy's exhibitions include venues across the US, UK, Italy, and China. She received a 2023 Craft Fellowship from the Alabama State Council on the Arts and 2022 Winterthur Museum Artist-Maker Fellowship for gold couching research. She has served as NEA grant reviewer and presented internationally on contemporary craft practices.
