About
Elisabeth Hessmann is Professor of Genome Dynamics in Pancreatic Cancer at the University Medical Center Göttingen. Her research investigates chromatin-associated mechanisms in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) development and therapy resistance. Professor Hessmann leads the DFG-funded Clinical Research Unit KFO 5002, exploring epigenetic dysregulation in cancer using murine models and patient-derived xenografts.
Her laboratory focuses on how chromatin regulators influence transcriptional processes driving PDAC progression. Current projects examine targeting chromatin regulatory proteins to overcome therapeutic resistance. Research spans biochemistry, molecular biology, and translational approaches using transgenic models.
