Elisa Pieri

Dr. Elisa Pieri is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Manchester. Her research focuses on security, urban sociology, and the ethical implications of emerging technologies. She leads the 'Securing Cities Against Global Pandemics' project funded by the Simon Fellowship, exploring pandemic risk framing, urban preparedness, and technology roles in city security. Pieri teaches courses such as Urban Sociology, Pandemic Security, and Global Social Challenges, and has supervised numerous postgraduate and undergraduate dissertations.
