Elisa Metz is a Lecturer for Border Crossings in the Master's program Sound and Reality at the Institute for Music and Media, Robert Schumann University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf. She holds a BA in Integrated Design from TH Cologne and an M.Mus. in Sound and Reality from the same institute where she now teaches.
Her artistic practice spans sound and visual compositions for concerts, performances, installations, and film/video, often involving experimental approaches. She founded the feminist fanzine grapefruits and co-created the podcast minneola, both exploring music and media from interdisciplinary perspectives. Elisa Metz also works as a graphic designer and art director for cultural sector clients, including the c/o pop Festival.
Her creative projects include Glass Wands, using self-made glass instruments in installations and live performances, and her pop project Henry Lee, which released two albums: TV in the Corner (2022) and Epiphanies (2024). She received the Sparkassen-Kulturstiftung Rheinland award in 2023 and was nominated for the popNRW Prize with Henry Lee.
