Elisa Della Calce

Elisa Della Calce is a Contract Lecturer in History of Latin Literature at the University of Macerata (academic year 2024/25) and a Research Fellow in Latin Language and Literature at the University of Turin. She holds a PhD in Literature (Greek, Latin, and Byzantine Philology and Literature) from the University of Turin.

Her research focuses on Roman historiography (Livius), clemency in Latin literature, Republican Roman political thought (Cicero's De Republica), and Digital Humanities, particularly through the SERICA project (Sino-European Religious Intersections in Central Asia) and collaboration with the DISH center. Since 2021, she has explored the reception of classical Latin texts (Cicero) in Jesuit missions in 16th–17th century China. She published a monograph on Livy and clemency in 2023.

Teaching and advising: She coordinates courses on Latin Literature History and has held teaching roles at the University of Turin. Her office hours are by appointment via email.
