Elisa Bellah

Elisa Bellah is an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Toronto. She holds a PhD from the University of Oregon (2022), supervised by Shabnam Akhtari, and was previously a postdoctoral teaching fellow at Carnegie Mellon University. Her research focuses on number theory and mathematics education.

Elisa has taught a variety of undergraduate mathematics courses, including Linear Algebra I (MAT223) at the University of Toronto, Number Theory (21-441) and Matrices and Linear Transformations (21-241) at Carnegie Mellon, and foundational courses like Introduction to Proof (Math 307) and Elementary Functions (Math 112) at the University of Oregon. She organizes a mathematics department bookclub at the University of Toronto and previously co-organized the Teaching in Practice Seminar (TiPS) at Carnegie Mellon and the Junior Mathematician Research Archive (JMRA).
