About
Eline Menu is a Research Professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), leading a research team focused on multiple myeloma (MM) biology. She obtained her PhD in 2006 from VUB and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. Her work centers on identifying novel therapeutic targets through studies of exosomal crosstalk, metabolic vulnerabilities, and immunotherapeutic strategies involving NKT cells. She has held a faculty position since 2015 and is active in translational research projects such as targeting pro-tumoral exosomal exchanges and CAR T-cell therapy mechanisms.
Her research spans 250+ publications and 26 funded projects, with key contributions including 8 papers on exosomal roles in MM pathobiology (including a Blood publication) and 6 studies on metabolic targets (e.g., Haematologica). She has received awards like the Amgen Award (2005) and multiple ASH abstract achievement awards. Current projects include ANI411 (CAR T therapy immune suppression mechanisms) and ANI374 (CD138-syntenin inhibitors).
Collaborations span institutions globally, with active participation in conferences and media-recognized breakthroughs in MM treatment. She co-leads the SRP84 project (T-cell profiling for adoptive cell therapies) and maintains a lab using 5TMM syngeneic mouse models for in vivo studies.
