About
Prof. Elina Fuchs is a Professor at Leibniz University Hannover and Leading Scientist at DESY, leading the Particle Physics Beyond the Standard Model group. Her research focuses on Higgs phenomenology, Dark Matter, and collider physics, with strong ties to atomic physics through the QuantumFrontiers Excellence Cluster. She holds a PhD from DESY/University of Hamburg and has held postdoctoral positions at Fermilab and Weizmann Institute. Her team includes postdocs (e.g., Fiona Kirk) and PhD students (e.g., Agnese Mariotti). She actively contributes to outreach, including KinderUni and public lectures. Awards include the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Prize (2023). Her work integrates theoretical predictions with experimental data, leveraging quantum technologies and machine learning.
Education: B.Sc./M.Sc. at Georg-August University Göttingen (M.Sc. thesis at DESY), PhD at DESY/Uni Hamburg (2015). Postdocs: Fermilab (2019-2021), Weizmann Institute (2015-2019).
Research Themes: Higgs boson properties, CP violation, electroweak baryogenesis, and atomic physics interfaces. Key collaborations: PTB Braunschweig, CERN (Theory Coordinator of Quantum Technology Initiative).
