About
Elihu Rubin is the Henry Hart Rice Associate Professor of Architecture and Urban Studies at Yale University, bridging urban disciplines through research on 19th-20th century built environments. His award-winning book Insuring the City analyzes postwar urban landscapes through the Prudential Center case study.
Rubin directs the Yale Urban Media Project, a public scholarship initiative documenting urban change, and co-founded American Beat documentary films. His research examines the intersection of planning history, cultural geography, and visual representation in urban spaces.
His scholarly contributions include analyses of skyscraper development, situationist urban pedagogy, and video methods in planning practice. Current projects investigate the cultural history of 'ghost towns' as urban icons.
