Eli Feiring is a Professor at the Department of Health Management and Health Economics, University of Oslo, and currently serves as Vice-Dean for Bachelor's and Master's Degree Programmes in the Faculty of Medicine. Her expertise spans political philosophy, ethics in healthcare, priority setting, and social inequality. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science (Dr.polit.) from the University of Oslo (2004).
Feiring has led the Department of Health Management and Health Economics (2019–2022) and is a member of numerous advisory boards, including the Norwegian Institute of Public Health’s Committee on Prioritizing COVID-19 Vaccination (2020) and the Norwegian Dental Care Commission (2022–24). She is a Fellow at the Centre for Advanced Studies (CAS) and leads sub-projects under the Norwegian Centre for Health Services Research (NORCHER). Her research focuses on ethical dilemmas in health policy, resource allocation, and patient responsibility.
Feiring teaches courses such as HMET 5120 (Qualitative Methods), HMAN 5140 (Priority Setting), and HMED 4102 (Comparative Health Policy). Her work bridges academic research and practical health system challenges, emphasizing equitable healthcare access and decision-making frameworks.
