Eleonora Fichera is Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Bath's Department of Economics. She holds an honorary position at the University of Manchester and serves as co-Editor of Health Economics. Her research investigates socio-economic determinants of health in high and low-middle income countries, pollution effects, health behaviors, and gender in academia.
Her work spans the economics of health and applied micro-econometrics, with focus areas including social determinants of health, pollution impacts, early-life health shocks, and gender disparities. She leads the 'Social Determinants of Health' research theme and has secured funding from MRC, ESRC, and NIHR.
Fichera's recent publications analyze low-emission zones, parental leave policies, pandemic dietary shifts, and health financing systems. She supervises doctoral students in health economics, education-health linkages, and policy evaluation.
