Eleonor Pusey-Reid

Eleonor Pusey-Reid is a Distinguished Associate Professor of Nursing at the MGH Institute of Health Professions, with over 35 years of experience in equity-driven nursing education, curriculum development, and international healthcare collaborations. She leads initiatives to address racial bias and promote inclusive teaching practices.

Her research focuses on equity in clinical education, racial microaggressions, representation of dark skin tones in nursing materials, and international nursing workforce development. She serves on the National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel and previously on the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing (2018–2022).

Her 2023 publication on skin assessment in patients with dark skin tone influenced international guidelines. The article highlights systemic biases in nursing textbooks and clinical training.
