Dr Eleni Lioliou is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in International Business and Strategy at Queen Mary University of London, serving as Programme Director for the BSc International Business. She holds a PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), an MPhil from the University of Cambridge, and additional advanced degrees in international business and economics. Previously, she was a faculty member at the University of Loughborough.
Her research focuses on information systems governance, outsourcing/offshoring dynamics, and international business strategies. Key areas include the role of social capital in sourcing relationships and the impact of digital technologies on global enterprise performance. She has published in top journals such as the Journal of World Business and Journal of Strategic Information Systems.
Dr Lioliou is a member of the Centre for Globalisation Research and the Business Ecosystems Research Group. She supervises doctoral students in information systems and international business strategy. Her work has been supported by grants from the Karelia Foundation, Leventis Foundation, and LSE.
She is a Senior Associate Editor for the Journal of Information Technology and a research associate at LSE's Outsourcing Unit. Dr Lioliou also contributes to teaching, including the course BUS359: Contemporary Strategic Analysis, and is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy.
