Elena Pacetti

Elena Pacetti is an Associate Professor of Didactics and Special Pedagogy at the Department of Education Studies, University of Bologna. She serves as the University’s representative in RUS (Italian University Network for Sustainable Development), leading its Education Working Group. As Scientific Coordinator of CEMET (Research Centre on Education, Media and Technologies), she also contributes to CRESPI (Center for Educational Research on Teacher Professionalism) and CSGE (Study Centre on Gender and Education). Her work focuses on educational innovation, digital technologies in teaching, gender equity in education, and inclusive pedagogies.

Her research spans projects funded by EU frameworks (Horizon 2020, Erasmus+), Italian agencies (AICS), and NGOs, addressing topics such as digital education, migrant integration, and community resilience. Notable roles include coordinating initiatives like AGILE-2-VET (digital learning in vocational training) and FORth (teacher training in the Philippines). She actively participates in editorial boards of journals like RPD and IMG, and reviews for platforms like Form@re and REM.

Elena teaches courses on educational technology, citizenship education, and science communication at undergraduate and graduate levels. She advocates for climate action, aligning with movements like #FridaysForFuture, and promotes gender equality through institutional statements and memorials for victims of gender-based violence.

Her projects emphasize global collaboration, such as designing educational programs in Nepal, Palestine, and El Salvador, while local initiatives include digital literacy projects in Emilia-Romagna schools. She prioritizes teacher training and community engagement to foster equitable, technology-driven education systems.
