Dr Elena Minelli is a Lecturer in the Department of Politics, Languages and International Studies at the University of Bath. She serves as Language Coordinator for Italian, overseeing program design, delivery, and teaching practice collaboration within the department and Foreign Language Centre (FLC). Her roles include managing the Italian team, organizing language teaching seminars, and contributing to academic development initiatives such as the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice.
Her education includes a BA and MA in Modern Languages and Literatures from the University of Bergamo (Italy), an MEd in Psychology of Education from the University of Bristol, and a PhD in Gender and Translation Studies from the University of Bath (2006). Her research focuses on foreign language pedagogy, applying educational psychology principles to language teaching, and exploring translation's role in cultural and linguistic understanding through literary and audiovisual texts.
She collaborates with Dr Fabrizio Gallai on Italian language program development and has contributed to the Open University’s blended learning modules for Italian Language and Culture since 2006. Her work bridges interdisciplinary approaches to translation studies and multilingual education.
