Elena Machado Sáez is John P. Crozer Professor of English Literature at Bucknell University, specializing in contemporary American, US Latinx, and Caribbean diaspora literatures. Her research examines cultural politics and representation in theater and digital media.
Professor Machado's work analyzes how US Latinx writers navigate institutional structures and digital platforms. Her current project investigates archival activism in contemporary US Latinx theater and how performance preserves cultural memory.
She has published extensively on Lin-Manuel Miranda's work and its cultural impacts. As a 2022-2023 National Humanities Center Fellow, she developed framework for understanding theater as archival practice that addresses generational discontinuity.
