Elena Federici

Elena Federici is a Researcher at the Jacobs Center for Productive Youth Development, University of Zurich, focusing on developmental neuroscience and socioemotional brain development. She leads intergenerational neuroimaging studies and investigates neural similarities between friends and romantic partners.

Her research explores intergenerational neuroimaging, neural similarities in relationships, and the impact of parental parenting styles on children's brain structures. She conducts MRI scans at the Children's Hospital Zurich and contributes to science communication initiatives.

Elena has extensive experience in research projects, including data collection for the z-proso longitudinal study and work at the Translational Neuromodeling Unit (ETH Zurich & UZH). She also led interactive seminars for first-semester psychology students during her studies.
