About
Eleanor Bauer is Assistant Professor of Contemporary Dance and Choreography at Stockholm University of the Arts. Her research explores the intersection of choreography and writing through practice-based investigations. The artistic research project 'choreo | graphy' examines translations between collective dancing (choreo) and writing (graphy), resulting in innovative formats like 'Sensual Journalism'.
Research outputs include the choreographic novel 'Nora the Many' (2022), created with London-based dance collective Nora, which documents dance experiences through narrative forms. This work represents a hybrid genre merging fiction, sensation studies, and performance documentation.
Ongoing projects continue to develop methods for articulating embodied knowledge and dance thinking through written forms. Research activities bridge artistic practice and academic investigation in performance studies.
