Elaine Fuertes is an Imperial College Research Fellow at the National Heart & Lung Institute (NHLI), part of the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College London. Her research focuses on environmental and behavioral factors influencing allergic diseases and respiratory health across lifespans, with a focus on pollution, greenspaces, pollen, and climate interactions.
Education: PhD in Public Health (University of British Columbia, 2014), MSc in Public Health (2009), BSc in Biochemistry (2007).
Collaborations include international multidisciplinary groups across Europe, Canada, Germany, Sweden, and the Netherlands. She previously held a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship at ISGlobal, Barcelona.
Professional roles: Co-chair of the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (Europe Chapter), member of ISEE Communications Committee, and former steering committee member of ISEE-SNRN (2014–2016).
