El Webster

El Webster is a Doctoral Researcher at the School of Design and Creative Arts. She holds a First Class BSc Honours Degree in Product Design from the University of Huddersfield, completed while managing her own business, and a Postgraduate MA (eca) in Product Design from the University of Edinburgh, specializing in cultural considerations in design.

Her research focuses on the integration of Digital Technologies into Cultural Heritage, particularly through 3D scanning and digital applications in museums. She previously collaborated with Gearbox Kenya to develop solar lighting solutions tailored to local needs, one of which was exhibited at the 2016 Arts Showcase during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

El’s work bridges practical design innovation, cultural sensitivity, and digital preservation. Her prior projects highlight interdisciplinary collaboration and real-world impact in sustainable design.
