Ekaterina Smith

Ekaterina Smith is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Nursing, University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, where she has been educating nursing students since January 2018. Her expertise spans medical-surgical nursing, community and leadership, and gerontological nursing, with a focus on innovative pedagogy for adult learners.

Her research explores academic burnout in nursing students, emotional intelligence, and the transition challenges of newly licensed nurses post-COVID-19. She emphasizes diversity in healthcare, holistic admissions, and lifelong learning to improve nursing education.

Ekaterina is dedicated to motivating students to become competent, safe nursing graduates. She is currently pursuing her terminal degree to further demonstrate her commitment to the profession.
