Eivind Thomassen

Eivind Thomassen serves as Associate Professor in history at the Department of Business, History and Social Sciences within the School of Business at the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN), based at the Vestfold campus.

His research centers on 20th-century Norwegian economic policymaking, with particular expertise in fiscal policy, monetary policy, oil governance, and incomes policy. This work bridges historical analysis with contemporary economic governance frameworks, emphasizing Norway's unique resource-driven policy evolution.

Thomassen holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of Oslo (2020) and actively contributes to public discourse as President of the Norwegian Economic History Association since 2018 and as a columnist for Morgenbladet newspaper.
