Eilon Solan

Professor Eilon Solan holds the Nathan and Lily Silver Chair in Stochastic Models at Tel Aviv University's School of Mathematical Sciences, Department of Statistics. He serves as director of the Good To Know project and maintains active roles in academic leadership.

His educational background includes:

• B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science, Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1989)

Professor Solan's research centers on Game Theory with significant contributions to stochastic models and mathematical economics. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications in decision-making processes, evidenced by his authoritative textbooks that have shaped contemporary pedagogy in the field. He actively disseminates knowledge through Hebrew-language public lectures on stable matchings and game theory fundamentals.

As an editorial leader, he serves as Associate Editor for the International Journal of Game Theory and Advisory Editor for Games and Economic Behavior. His scholarly output includes the seminal textbooks Game Theory (Cambridge University Press, 2020) and A Course in Stochastic Game Theory (2022), alongside a Hebrew science fiction duology titled The Next-Emperor.

Professor Solan directs the Good To Know research project and maintains an open-door policy for student consultations by appointment in Schreiber Building Room 126. His outreach extends to video presentations for both academic and public audiences, including lectures at the "Bigger Picture" forum and specialized talks for mathematicians.
