Eileen Bridge

Eileen Bridge serves as an Additional Instructor for the SEA-PHAGES program at Miami University, co-teaching MBI 223 Section A (Phage Discovery/Microbiology) during Fall 2023 alongside Primary Instructor Rebecca Balish. This course engages 20 freshmen in hands-on phage research using Microbacterium foliorum as host bacteria, meeting twice weekly for 3-hour sessions.

Her research profile centers on Microbiology, Genomics, and Evolutionary Biology through the national Science Education Alliance initiative, with specific expertise in phage discovery methodologies and bioinformatics applications for undergraduate education.

As part of Miami University's instructional team for the SEA-PHAGES consortium, she contributes to a structured program delivering phage genomics education through standardized protocols including phage isolation, genome annotation, and evolutionary analysis frameworks.
