Eftihia G. Nathanail

Eftihia G. Nathanail serves as Professor in Transportation Systems Design and Evaluation at the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Thessaly, and directs the TTLog Laboratory in Volos, Greece.

Her research spans transportation planning, intelligent transportation systems, behavioral modeling, intermodal transportation, logistics, and multicriteria optimization, with emphasis on smart mobility solutions and system evaluation.

Professor Nathanail has led significant European projects including CLOSER (passenger/freight transport integration), STRAIGHTSOL* and NOVELOG* (collaborative urban networks), CITY-HUB* (public transport interchange efficiency), and CAST* (traffic safety campaigns), demonstrating expertise in translating research into practical mobility frameworks.

She holds influential roles as Dangerous Goods Expert for NATO's Transport Group, TRB Committee Member since 2009, and national representative for COST Initiatives TU1004 and TU1305, while previously contributing to ECOMOBILITY, ECOCITY, RESTRAIL, and MIND-SETS expert boards.
