Edward G. Baring is an Associate Professor of History and the University Center for Human Values at Princeton University, serving as Acting Director of the Early-Career Research Office. His work focuses on modern European intellectual history, particularly the intersection of Catholicism and Continental Philosophy. Baring holds a BA in Mathematics and History from the University of Cambridge and a PhD from Harvard University.
His research explores thinkers like Derrida and the development of Continental Philosophy, with notable publications including Converts to the Real (2019) and The Young Derrida (2011).
