Edward F Duke is a Professor in the Department of Geology and Geological Engineering at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He serves as Director of the Engineering and Mining Experiment Station (EMES) and oversees the South Dakota Space Grant Consortium and NASA EPSCoR Program.

His research spans granites and pegmatites, graphite deposits, metamorphic rock geochemistry, and mineral reactions in concrete. Recent work focuses on field-based infrared spectroscopy and remote sensing techniques for metamorphic rock characterization.
Dr. Duke teaches a course on Scanning Electron Microscopy, integrating advanced analytical methods into geological studies.
