Edoardo Martinetto

Edoardo Martinetto is an Associate Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Turin, specializing in paleontology and paleoecology (SSD: GEO/01). His research examines paleoenvironmental signals from Cenozoic terrestrial plants and evolutionary behavior studies.

His research spans:

• Paleontological analysis of Italian floral fossil remains
• Deterministic factors in late Cenozoic plant extinctions
• Biochronological reconstruction of paleoenvironments
• Evolutionary patterns in animal and human behavior
• Paleobotanical monitoring techniques

He leads projects including census analysis of Italian fossil flora and PROGEO-Piemonte (ORTO11Y7RH).

Professor Martinetto teaches Natural Sciences, Natural Systems Sciences, and Evolution of Animal and Human Behavior courses including Paleontology and Paleobotany for the Giorgio Gullini School of Specialization in Archaeological Heritage. He serves on the Departmental Council and maintains office hours by email appointment.
