Edmund Becker

Edmund Becker is a Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at Emory University. He previously served as Senior Research Associate at Harvard School of Public Health and led the Resource-Based Relative Value Scale (RBRVS) project, foundational to Medicare physician payment systems. His academic background includes roles at Vanderbilt University and the University of Colorado at Denver. He holds a PhD from Vanderbilt University, an MA from Ohio University, and a BS from Westminster College.

Research interests focus on healthcare costs, outcomes, policy, and disparities. Notable projects include evaluating Medicaid provider prescription patterns, hospital performance benchmarking, and the impact of healthcare payment reforms.
