Edlyne Anugwom is a Senior Professor of Sociology and African Development at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He holds a PhD in Industrial/Labour Sociology and Industrial Relations. His academic roles have included Post-Graduate Studies Coordinator, Head of Department, and Director of Education Innovation. He has held fellowships at institutions in Leiden, Birmingham, Edinburgh, and Cape Town among others.
His research focuses on industrial relations, development challenges, natural resource conflicts, and Islamic fundamentalism in Africa. Notable areas include analysis of Boko Haram insurgency dynamics, memory studies related to the Biafran war, and socio-political marginalization in Nigeria.
He is Secretary-General of the Pan African Anthropologists Association (PAAA) and affiliated with networks like CODESRIA and the International Sociological Association. His recent publications (2017-2020) explore energy transitions in developing societies, Boko Haram's socio-political dimensions, and institutional management of natural resources.
