About
Edith Anahi Gonzalez is a Doctoral Researcher at the Institute of Building Structures and Structural Design (ITKE) and part of the Cluster of Excellence IntCDC at the University of Stuttgart. Her work focuses on adaptive architectural systems that integrate bio-inspired compliant mechanisms and renewable energy technologies.
- M.Sc. and M.Arch. qualifications
- Active in environmental adaptive architecture teaching
- Contributing to projects like AP 23 – Flectuation
Her research explores energy-efficient façade solutions through pneumatically actuated fiber-reinforced plastics and integrated photovoltaics. She employs simulations, physical testing, and environmental sensing to optimize building performance while maintaining indoor environmental quality.
Recent publications address deformation behavior of FRPs, data-driven control strategies for adaptive façades, and bio-inspired kinematic systems for solar control. Her work spans interdisciplinary domains including structural engineering, biomimetics, and sustainable materials.
