Eddie Chambers

Eddie Chambers is Professor of African Diaspora Art History at the University of Texas at Austin, holding the David Bruton, Jr. Centennial Professorship. He earned his PhD from Goldsmiths College, University of London, and has curated exhibitions internationally since the 1980s.

His scholarship examines cultural identity in Black British art and the global African diaspora. Recent publications include 'World is Africa: Writings on Diaspora Art' and edited volumes like 'The Routledge Companion to African American Art History'. Chambers served as Editor-in-Chief of CAA's Art Journal (2021-2024).
