Eda Beyazit Ince

Dr Eda Beyazit Ince is a Research Fellow in Active Travel and Micromobility at the Centre for Transport & Society (CTS) within the School of Architecture and Environment at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol). Previously, she served as an Associate Professor of Urban Planning at Istanbul Technical University (ITU), where she founded the IstanbulON Urban Mobility Lab, a collaborative platform for sustainable mobility solutions.

Her educational background includes a DPhil in Transport Geography from the University of Oxford and MSc/BSc degrees in Urban Planning from Istanbul Technical University.

Dr Ince's research centers on socio-spatial inequalities created by transport infrastructures, mobility-driven disparities, and gendered/classed mobilities in urban contexts. She pioneered stakeholder engagement in Istanbul's Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) - the first megacity SUMP - and recently investigated pandemic mobility experiences of female domestic workers during her Urban Studies Foundation Fellowship at the University of Manchester. Her work bridges academic research with community-driven solutions for equitable urban transport systems.
