Ed Ravensbergen

Ed Ravensbergen serves as an Urban Design Lecturer and Researcher at the Academy for Built Environment & Logistics, focusing on practical applications of urban theory within contemporary built environments. His role bridges academic instruction and applied research in spatial planning and community development.

His research centers on urban design, architecture, built environment dynamics, participatory processes, and sustainability frameworks. He investigates how community engagement shapes sustainable neighborhood development, emphasizing practical solutions for livable urban spaces through collaborative design methodologies and future-proofing strategies.

Ravensbergen has secured significant research funding through multiple projects including BLW: Bouwstenen voor Leefbare Wijken (2014-2016) as Principal Investigator, VINEXt (2011-2013) as co-PI addressing urban expansion challenges, and currently contributes as Co-Investigator to the Erasmus+ funded NextGenSportsFacilities project (2024-2025) developing innovative sports infrastructure across Europe.
