Dr. Ed McGinley is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of Natural Sciences at Flagler College. He holds a Ph.D. in Wildlife and Fisheries from West Virginia University, an M.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries from Frostburg State University, and a B.S. in Marine Biology from Saint Francis University. His research focuses on estuarine ecosystems in Northeast Florida, particularly studying fish, crustaceans, and cephalopods to understand species distribution patterns and environmental impacts.
Dr. McGinley teaches courses such as Environmental Science, Marine Biology, and Coastal Field Zoology. He actively involves undergraduate students in field research, emphasizing hands-on learning and community engagement. His work includes monitoring green sea turtles in marinas, analyzing estuarine water quality after dredging projects, and studying invasive species like the nine-armed sea star.
