Ed Cackett is a Distinguished Service Professor and Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at Wayne State University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS). He holds a joint appointment in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Previously, he served as Chair of the Department of Physics & Astronomy (2023–2024), Interim Chair (2022–2023), and Professor (2012–present). His career includes roles such as Chandra Fellow at the University of Michigan and postdoctoral research positions at the University of Cambridge and University of Michigan.
