Earline Strickland

Dr. Earline Strickland is a distinguished academic and leader in Family and Consumer Sciences, affiliated with Alcorn State University's College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences. She earned her B.S. in Home Economics Education from Alcorn State University in 1960, M.S. and Ph.D. in Home Economics from Iowa State University. She served as department chair and instrumental in advancing academic programs, accreditation, and research funding.

Her research interests span Family and Consumer Sciences, Nutrition Intervention, Adult Education, Community Health, and Higher Education Administration. She has led major initiatives including the Delta Nutrition Intervention Research Initiative and the Family Nutrition Program, with over $1 million secured for facility development. Her work bridges academic research and community impact.

Dr. Strickland has received numerous honors including listings in Who’s Who publications and recognition from the USDA, Mississippi state government, and First Lady Betty Ford. She has served as a grant reviewer, program monitor, and site visitor for national organizations.
