ERDOGAN PAZARBASI

Prof. ERDOĞAN PAZARBASI is a distinguished faculty member at Erciyes University, holding the position of Professor in the Faculty of Theology, Department of Fundamental Islamic Sciences since 2003. His academic journey includes roles as Associate Professor (1997–2003) and Assistant Professor (1994–1997), with earlier service as a Research Assistant (1988–1994). He has served in key administrative roles, including Head of Department (2009–2012, 2005–2010), Vice Dean (2002–2009), and Institute Board Member. His education includes a Doctorate in Social Sciences from Erciyes University (1994), focusing on Quranic Studies and Civilization.

His research spans Quranic Commentary, History of Religions, Sociology of Religion, and Islamic Studies. He has authored over 48 publications, including books like Fahreddin er-Râzî ve Tefsir İlmindeki Yeri (2023) and Kur’an ve Medeniyet (1996). His work bridges historical and contemporary Quranic interpretation, with a focus on social, cultural, and political dimensions of Islamic thought.

Prof. Pazarbasi has advised 35 theses, emphasizing classical Quranic exegesis and modern interpretive methodologies. His articles explore topics such as Ottoman Quranic commentaries, ethical frameworks in the Quran, and the role of Quranic teachings in societal change. He actively participates in academic conferences and serves on editorial boards, contributing to the advancement of theological scholarship.
