Dylan Vitone is a Professor at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Design within the College of Fine Arts. He teaches Digital Photographic Imaging, Photographic Design, and interdisciplinary photography courses. Vitone holds an MFA from Massachusetts College of Art (2003) and a BA from St. Edward's University (2001).
His research explores geographical documentation through panoramic photography to examine social and cultural phenomena. Major projects include studies of post-industrial Pittsburgh, rapid urbanization in Doha (Qatar), cultural engagement with nature in Yellowstone, and communities in South Boston and rural Louisiana. His artistic process focuses on revealing poetic relationships in ordinary settings through large-scale, multi-perspective compositions.
