About
Dylan Kreynen is a Doctoral Research Fellow and Research Fellow in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Oslo, affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. He is part of Prof. Regine Hock's group, focusing on global-scale glacier modeling within glaciology and the cryosphere. His work integrates satellite remote sensing and numerical modeling techniques.
Education:
- PhD candidate in Glaciology (2021–present), University of Oslo
- MSc Geoscience & Remote Sensing (2021), TU Delft
- BSc Aerospace Engineering (2018), TU Delft
Research Interests: Dylan’s research spans glaciology, cryosphere dynamics, satellite remote sensing, and numerical modeling. His MSc thesis explored snow and radiative transfer models in Greenland’s percolation zones, while his PhD focuses on global glacier dynamics modeling. His engineering background bridges technical and environmental sciences.
Teaching: He contributes to courses such as GEO4420/9420 – Glaciology and GEO3460/4460 – Surveying, Photogrammetry and Spatial Analysis.
Labs/Teams: Active member of Prof. Regine Hock’s glaciology research group at the University of Oslo.
