Dwight Codr

Dwight Codr is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at the University of Connecticut (Storrs campus). He holds a PhD from Cornell University (2006) with a dissertation on 18th-century British literature. His primary affiliations include the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, where he has served in leadership roles such as Interim Associate Department Head and committee memberships.

Research focuses on intersections between 18th-century British literature and economic history, with special attention to disability studies, religion, and the rise of the novel. Key projects include Raving at Usurers: Anti-Finance and the Ethics of Uncertainty in England, 1690-1750 (2016). Teaching includes courses like 'The Frankenstein Course' and graduate seminars on economic theory.

Recent awards include the 2016 Faculty Mentorship Excellence Award and a 2021 General Education Grant. He co-edits LIT: Literature Interpretation Theory and actively participates in academic service at national and institutional levels.
