About
Duncan Lawson is a Professor at Coventry University, serving as an Affiliate of the Centre for Global Learning and Co-Director of Sigma (LIB Mathematics Support Centre). Before joining the university in 1987, he worked at the British Gas Midland Research Station. He held roles such as Associate Dean of the School of Mathematical and Information Sciences (2001–present). His research focuses on learner identities in mathematics education, transitions from school to university, and the efficacy of mathematics support systems, particularly leveraging new technologies.
Recent projects include the ESRC IAA Partnership Development Award (2024–2025) aimed at enhancing mathematics and statistics support through network-building. His work spans international collaborations, as seen in studies on post-pandemic educational practices in Germany and the UK, and evaluations of curriculum impacts in Indonesia.
