Dr. Duc Tran is a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering at California State University Long Beach (CSULB), part of the College of Engineering. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Ho Chi Minh International University (2009), an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from CSULB (2013), and a Ph.D. in Engineering and Industrial Applied Mathematics from Claremont Graduate University (2019).
His research focuses on the theory and application of Internet of Things (IoT), distributed optimization, and control for cyber-physical systems such as smart grids and smart buildings. He also investigates digital signal processing techniques for fault detection in power systems. Dr. Tran's work bridges theoretical advancements with practical implementations in energy-efficient systems.
He can be reached at duc.tran@csulb.edu, with office hours on Tuesdays/Thursdays 3:00–5:00 PM.
